If you are a lover of Jane Austen's work, then I am sure you will love "The Jane Austen Society" novel, by Natalie Jenner. The story takes place in the small village of Chawton, England which was Austen's last home. The characters and setting in this historic but fictional story give us a great picture of this time and place.
The first few chapters introduce us to all the main characters and their individual and unusual life circumstances. The pace is a little bit slower to my liking, and it took me some time to connect it all. All of the main characters have their own struggles, cope with death and loss, but they unite in their desire to save Austen's home and heritage. You end up connecting with those characters and it is amazing to feel the power of human connection and see what it can achieve.
Reading this book, you will find plenty of references to Jane Austen's work, and I am sure you will appreciate it. However, if you haven't read her books or have no passion for her work whatsoever, you might want to pick something else to read.
