Improving your Happiness


Many people are constantly seeking happiness. Many can’t even define it or don’t even know what it means to be happy. Sometimes, people expect to find happiness somewhere else, with someone else, rarely realizing, happiness is in us. We just have to find it and let it be.

You can achieve happiness with the joy in little moments or you can create a fulfilling life where you find happiness in every moment.

There are a few activities or considerations that might have a positive impact on your life and increase your happiness. Perhaps try some or all!


1. Connect with Nature


Any time you go outside, take a walk, observe nature will make you feel better and calmer. Sitting on a bench enjoying the sun, walking on grass, admiring lights on a snowy night are all moments that can lift your mood. See the beauty and admire it. You will enlighten yourself.


2. Follow your dreams and find a passion


Ask yourself what is that something that makes you excited. Give it a try, follow it. Write, sing, dance, run, help others, find that spark. Try new things, give yourself a chance to find something you might love. Put your heart in action, wait, and see.


3. Be physically active


Choose your activity, switch it up. Running, walking, gym, do whatever you enjoy the most. If you are not doing it, start small, short sessions and increase it every day. They say it takes 21 days for a habit to be created. Pick the physical activity and experience positive change. You will sleep better, your energy level will be higher, you will focus and breathe better among other things. With all of these benefits, your mood will be lifted and your overall happiness feeling will improve.


4. Find fulfillment by helping others


It is well known that helping others can bring much joy to us. For many people, it brings purpose and satisfaction when improving another’s life. Help can be in many ways. It could be materialistic help, emotional support, helping solve a problem. Sometimes, as simple as listening to someone can make a difference. That feeling when you feed a hungry child or put a warm jacket on a homeless person. The sense you made an impact or you did greater good. There are so many ways we can do good in our lives, and we will feel better and happier.


5. Respect and love yourself


Recognize good in yourself. Understand you are a unique individual with your own traits. You are doing the best you can. Have the right expectations from yourself and from others. You only have one life, and you don’t want to overanalyze it or criticize yourself or your past actions. End of the day, don’t be hard on yourself.
