Casa Madera, Toronto

Casa Madera is a wonderful new addition to fabulous Toronto life. The dishes resemble Mexican and Mediterranean flavours and can't say enough how good everything is in this phenomenal restaurant. The decor is beautiful with live plants and candles all around. The music was great with DJ and other performance artists. Simply spectacular.

Nothing but five stars for service, that was attentive and knowledgable, with perfect suggestions for everything we needed.

And then food, such a beautiful presentation. Everything was super delicious. Even though the restaurant offers both seafood and meat, we opted for a lighter dinner sharing several seafood plates.

For a starter, we ordered Chevice Blanco - white fish with habanero and lime; a great and refreshing flavor.

From the raw bar selection, we picked Hamachi Serrano, which was an eye-pleaser.

Beet salad was truly amazing, coming with candied walnuts and whipped goat cheese. Another great salad we had was Yucatan Sweet Corn, which was pretty filling and had some great elements to it, like the white bean, sweet corn, jicama and Campari tomato. To this mix, we have added another item from the raw bar Bahia Vieira - sea scallops with ginger and cucumbers. We really enjoyed every bite. There is a completely another section of the menu with full entrees, which we will try on a different occasion.

On top of these delicious meals, we had a few desserts and cocktails. I don't know what I liked more. Everything was really special.

We had two desserts, Matcha Mango Cheesecake and Basil Custard Tarta. A few words to describe them: inside out stunning..And if this wasn't enough, as the cherry on top cocktails...

All in all, my new favorite Toronto restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant, and can't wait to go back.
