Perfect summer day spent in Niagara, Ontario area. After our hiking at Balls Falls, we came for late lunch to Shaw Cafe and Wine Bar in Niagara on the Lake. This restaurant is just as from a fairy tale. It is decorated to perfection, with interesting shape, two levels patio and gorgeous flowers all around. It is located in the middle of the main strip of this beautiful little town with lots of small shops, cafes and restaurants. I would say that restaurant menu is decent, few good things to pick from, ex. fish and chips, mussels, sandwiches, burger, salad. Great selection of Ontario wine to mention and good espresso coffee. This place is absolute must when coming to this area. Across the street, there is a little gelato shop, and one of the best we had ever had. Visiting Niagara on the Lake you can't get disappointed.
As a part of our daily outing, we visited Balls Falls. The trail is not long, but it is very nice. Upper falls are beautiful. We went down the Bruce trail, which is described as more advanced. Also, not very long, down the many stairs. At the bottom, you can find gorgeous place with little running river/lake, so peaceful and relaxing. There was noone there but us. We enjoyed the nature, and were able to walk through this water. Experience was wonderful. Unbelievable how small things can make people happy. Connecting with nature with your family and friends...cannot get any better.
