Is Skylight Toronto Worth the Hype? A Comprehensive Restaurant Review

Visiting Skylight I in Toronto was an absolute delight, offering a perfect blend of ambiance, service, and culinary adventure.

The ambiance at Skylight is spectacular, especially with its breathtaking views that create a memorable dining experience. The restaurant has a charming patio area, but I found the interior even more captivating with its stylish decor. The service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

The food at Skylight is a celebration of Mediterranean flavors with a modern twist. For appetizers, we started with the Hummus Musabaha, which is a delightful combination of tahini, chickpeas, and lemon, and the Nayea Lamb Tartare featuring lamb loin with dukkah, dill chermoula, and a medley of other intriguing flavors.

For our main courses, we chose the Pistachio Crusted Kebabs, made with ground Wagyu beef and lamb, complemented by pomegranate molasses and tzatziki, and the Grilled Lamb Chops, which were served with merguez sausage, fregola, and a refreshing cucumber salad.

To end our meal on a sweet note, we opted for two desserts: the Baklava Ice Cream, which paired raspberries and pistachios with a kalamansi curd and crunchy filo, and the Berry Mousse, featuring white chocolate and almond ganache with a spiced haskapberry compote. Both desserts were exquisite and provided a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

The meal was wonderfully paired with a bottle of white wine, Pecorino, which complemented the dishes perfectly and enhanced the overall dining experience.

Dining at Skylight was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy innovative Mediterranean cuisine in a beautiful setting.
